      Syba se připojila k iniciativě World Packaging Organisation a umožnila přihlašovatelům obalů do letošního ročníku soutěže OBAL ROKU přihlásit exponáty i na speciální ocenění Save Food, kde je akcent položen na inovaci materiálu, technologie či provedení obalu tak, aby bylo dosaženo zvýšené ochrany výrobku v potravinovém řetězci od krmiv po finální potravinářské produkty při minimalizaci potřebného obalového materiálu v duchu hesla: "As little as possible, as much as necessary".

          Transport packaging for car bumpers „BOOMerang“

          Packaging kit „BOOMerang“ is made from combination of two different parts of corrugated cardboard. Variation of these two parts allows to use this packaging for more than six different types of car bumpers.

          Cover gives to the quite fragile bumper needed shape support which makes it both the cover and shape holder.

          The „BOOMerang“ is unique as it’s usage variability as the possibility of stacking up without need to use pallets which is easier for manipulation and it saves space in the warehouse.

          In compare with origin packaging this solution brings to our Customer shorter time for assembling, less stock of packaging materials and mainly significant savings of logistic costs.

          Client asked for proposal of complete carton packaging for nutritions supplements and cosmetics and with the stated aspects for design even for outer packaging. Product series contains 4 sizes of packaging with fixated inlay developed for concrete product and leaflet in the same design. Every packaging is interestingly designed from one part which is possible to glue on the machine. The design was by the proposal made especially, that the products are covered rounded flap, which fits into the smaller flap. Combination of surface treatment makes contrast not only for sight, but also for touch, which the client feels as higher level in presentation of product through packaging.

          Universal pack. for seasonal chocolate (I.D.C.)

          Technology: offset print, gloss varnish

          The packaging is based on basic one-point construction (EMCA 2420) which is glued on the machine and made also for the high quantities. The aim was to make universal tools for long-term using. 

          In the cooperation with the graphic designer was proposed the universal shape which copies the Easter bunny, Nicholas, and Santa Claus. It also gives the added values of silhouette over the size of the packaging, often known from the displays and POS. Finally enables good transportation in group cartons without damaging (Individual packaging is possible to put together into the block)

          New type of packaging for car bumpers, called the “banana box“ consists only of the top part, being an integral part of the set. Former “banana box“ consisted of two parts – its bottom and its top part, while the new protector consists of only one piece. 

          Main advantage of this packaging is its shape, which allows the customer to cover the shape-demanding product directly. Respective packaging can be put into each other in a way allowing the customer to maximize the number of products on the transportation or storage unit. 

          Moreover, another advantages are saving of material, saving of time while packing, easy handling, requiring only one person, and easy logistics of empty packaging materials to the customer.

          Packaging for the Tactile lamps set

          Packaging for the Tactile lamps set is focused on easy packing and even easier unpacking of the product. The packaging is closed by number of plastic clips on different places. This packaging contains lifting lugs as well, allowing manoeuvrable transportation of product in narrow premises – in households, offices. Combination of plastic foam and corrugated cardboard is an ideal combination for fixing the fragile components. In case of two standing lamps, the glass parts are transported separately from the metal base for the purpose of maximum protection against destruction. From the constructional point of view, third table lamp allows you to pack the glass together with the metal base into two separated parts of one box. Packagings are appropriate for land and air transport.

          Ferdinand – gift multipack

          A great design of the gift multipack of six Ferdinand beer bottles, a mug and a variety of promotional items enables to press out beer bottoms within a large area for printing. This is an entirely unique design where the mug handle is used as a carrying handle of the packaging. The shape of the packaging prevents breakage of this glass integrated handle and at the same time enables stackability. After filling, it is not necessary to stick the packing so its filling and closing is very easy.

          Shelf Ready Packaging

          This multi-part packaging allows safe shipping of chilled water samples for laboratory testing. Consumers receive the packaging that can be opened using a perforated tear strip. Inside, there is another packaging with a sophisticated fixation, the inner layer of which is made of special water-resistant Paratherm material. A bottle of water for analysis and two bottles of frozen water serving for cooling can be safely inserted into the container as the temperature of the water sample should not exceed 5°C within 24 hours. The filled paratherm packaging is inserted back into the outer part, which is provided with a double-sided adhesive tape on the flap. A sender can pull the protective foil off and simply tape back and send the packaging. Thermal insulation is also enhanced by well-designed material layering.

          Smarty Minidisplay

          A small rack display for four types of products presents the complete Smarty brand portfolio. Products of various sizes and formats are smartly placed in a minimum space - PET bottles and cans. The goods are supplied at POS filled and packaged in the shipping container. After removing the protective cover, the display is only completed with a topper pulled out from the shipping container.  The minidisplay print optimally sets off the products graphics and makes a modern impression because of used hashtags. The display is used to test which of the products at the point of sale are the most attractive for consumers.

          Shelf displays are an essential part of successful POS promotions. The main advantage of this innovative construction is the speed and ease of assembly of the stand.

          The whole stand, including the socket and shelves, is supplied as one unit, which not only reduces the risk of damage or loss of the separate components, but also makes it much easier to assembly. The assembly process is done in a few simple steps and does not take more than 25 seconds.

          The stand is offered in a wide range of dimensional variants. It can be also complemented by a header or set of brandings on the sides and the socket.

          The registered exhibit was produced for Reckitt Benckiser and is a great proof of the benefits and versatility of using this design.

          The customer came up with a new project how to pack 6 different automotive latches, all of them in Left and Right alternative – that means 12 together. They wanted to put all of them in a plastic KLT box and into some insert. They already had some solution and wanted only our quotation and benchmark us with other suppliers. We refused that and promised to come up with much better solution. We did it – we invented a universal and very simple insert that is easy to manipulate, easy to assemble and all 12 latches fit in. Two of these insert are being put into the KLT and the L and R solution is just thaks to rotating the one and only insert. To put latches into cutouts is very easy and gentle that no foam is damaged during inserting and also the transport. The customer solution neeeded approx. 30secs for its assembling, we need just 4secs (87% of packing time saved). We have won the project.

          Vinyl Box

          A packaging for clasic vinyl discs has mainly transport purpose, no marketing. It highly focuses on functionality. Previous packaging was not a good one in terms of amount of corrugated material and also because of incorrect box type for specific needs. The new packaging has been designed for basically 2 processes: 1/ packing and 2/ warehousing. Once the is delivered to the distribution centre, i tis put on the shlelf/rack between other boxes. The only ocassion when the vinyl is put out is when the end-user orders. Then the rest of vinyls is thanks to the re-closing system closed again and protected agains dust.The packaging is simple amaerican box with perforations, but the smart placing of that perforation enables the box to be reclosed on one side. The customer also requested a solution that could be packed also on automatic packing lines – solved. We save material and significantly simplify the proces of putting ou tone of vinyls in distribution centre.

          Package for the rear cover

          Thanks to this packaging, which copy the shape of the part and allows the part to be manipulated and transported in the vertical position, we achieved the triple load effectivity of the transport pallet and the associated cost reduction compared to previously used cubic packaging where the parts were placed horizontally.

          Other advantages are, less time to pack the parts into this packaging and higher protection of the KTL surface treatment - so-called cataphoresis.

          The packaging consists of a casing and two pairs of internal corrugated cardboard fixings. 

          The VW logo is a symbol of the warranty and quality of Skoda Genuine Parts.

          Car glass packaging

          The main part of the packaging for the rear glass is a shaped cut and a pair of internal corrugated cardboard fixings, which are complemented by foam profiles. Protection of glass is further provided by fixations made of "drawn" material from the mold section and from segments that otherwise would end up as waste material. This whole set is sealed into a plastic bag that ensures compactness and protects against dirt or spillage of splinters in case of glass damage. Suitable handling and ergonomics are made possible by a pair of self-adhesive fasteners. The packaging is versatile for two types of glass. The VW logo is a symbol of the warranty and quality of Škoda Genuine Parts

          Group packing of control rods P-EPS

          A new method of fixation has been designed for the customer JTEKT, guaranteed to prevent parts from moving. The design includes auxiliary locks, cut-outs and punching marks which allow for assembly without sticking, guide the operator while folding and facilitate machine removal. Demands were placed on stacking individual layers of fixations and, at the same time, their openness for inserting/removing products, which resulted in the use of high-quality 5-layer corrugated cardboard and the creation of an ingenious design containing auxiliary flaps which do not allow the fixation to bend and thereby increase stability when stacking layers on top of one another. The product is locked inside the fixation behind a metal body. Other parts (cables, connectors and protrusions) are sensitive and must not come into contact with anything.

          The multi-way packaging for Audi A4 headlamp

          The multi-way (returnable) packaging for Audi A4 headlamp is designed to ensure safe handling and transport of the product from the factory to the customer. There is no marketing requirement on the packaging.

          It is an originally designed package, which has a long lifetime (the packaging should last for the entire life of the project, which is 5 years) given by the used cardboard and storage at the moment of returning the empty packages to the next cycle. The packaging is fixed by folding with a foldable bottom that rests on the nylon strut. The shaped ribs accurately copy the shape of the headlamp and prevent it from moving. Headlamps are oriented upside down so as to avoid contact and subsequent damage to the viewing side. The load capacity can be up to 800 kg, depending on the design and construction.

          The full description should not contain information about identification and ESD surface treatment as it is standard in the automotive segment.

          Nine redesigned Primeros packages represent minimalism and display uniform graphic symbols. The character of each species promotes a different color and a specific texture. Designers offer the customer several ways to discover the box itself: for example, the package glows in the dark, it can also be opened with just one hand, and there is a scratch-off competition on the back of the larger packs. Another surprise awaits you when you open the package - inside you find the English "claim", linked with a symbol specific for each individual species.

          Designers Korouš and Chabera favor simplicity, clean design and deluxe pack details: embossing, partial coloring, hot stamping, and inverted foil stamping.

          Functional multilayer PET bottle with oxygen barrier. No breakable, 100% recyclable, and up to 85% lighter than glass bottle equivalents. Approximately 50% lower carbon footprint values than glass equivalents. Smaller physical footprint results in c. 25% gain in transport capacity. PET bottle can be filled on the existing filling lines with minimal modification and with much less noise than glass. The PET bottle is aiming to be used as a glass equivalent in special occasions as concerts, festivals, sports events, airlines, free time activities, picnics etc.

          A series of graphic labels (wet glue) made from MATISSET Linen white paper of 80 g/m2 basis weight for 5 kinds of beer has been designed in such a manner that the new labels differ from the original ones and correspond with a new design of brown retro bottles. The labels are printed using a sheet-fed offset with CMYK colors and pantone gold and silver colors that evoke uniqueness and exclusiveness. Every kind of beer has crown caps in different colors. This consumer packaging including labels, crown caps and beer makes a perfectly harmonized whole.

          AMBROZIA - bottle for honey aperitif

          During the production of AMBROZIA, we were inspired by the ancient Greece, where it was called sweet drink which symbolizied the immortality of the gods of the famous Olympus.

          The name AMBROZIA is the brand of the first aperitif beverage made of honey. His strength was once again revived in an aperitif drink, which complements the taste of honey with its deliberately selected herbs, spices and citruses.

          The design of bottles and labels is simple, yet monumental. The common feature of all three AMBROZIE species is a garland symbolizing victory. It is the result of the bees effort and the drink makers themselves, while "honey drop" is the name of the product.

          The design of the labels is simple, and the individual types are color-coded and refined by printing technologies that soften the overall impression and add accent to the symbols. We used : golden and relief embossing.

          Variations - 1 box, 1000 ways to use it

          Inovativní technologií je parciální dekor obalů ze skládačkové lepenky použitím transferu fólie pomocí digitálním tiskem nanesené barvy.

          U prezentovaného vzorku je použita skládačková lepenka o plošné hmotnosti 350 g/m2, která je digitálně potištěna v CMYK a následně potažena sametovým (soft-touch) laminem který produktu dodá nejenom potřebný sametový efekt, ale zároveň připraví podklad pro digitální přenos metalické folie.

          Na povrch je následně digitálním tiskem natištěn motiv či text, na který bude následně laminována metalická (zlatá, stříbrná, holografická apod.) folie. Metalická vrstva vzhledem ke svému opačnému náboji oproti barevnému toneru přilne naprosto přesně jen na místa natištěného motivu. Jedná se o naprosto inovativní technologii parciálního dekoru skládačkového obalu. Tímto procesem jsou eliminované náklady nejenom na tiskovou formu, ale i razící štoček. Navíc je možné touto technologií přenášet folií i ty nejjemnější rastry. Tím, že je výroba komplexně digitální, lze na jednom typu obalu provádět různé možnosti tisku i foliové „ražby“ bez navýšení nákladů.  Po tisku i zušlechtění následuje zpracování obalu na plotru, případně výsek.

          Packaging solution for 4 energy bars The Late Mr. Smith is based on the needs, specified by our customer: to divide two separate doses, to fix energy bars in the packaging while easily to be taken out of the package at the same time. The required result has been reached by the unique packaging interior construction, which stops automatically half way when sliding out of the outside sleeve and offers one meal dose - 2 energy bars to the user.

          Packaging is full colour offset printed on the solid bleached sulphate with mat laminated surface and spot UV varnish.

          Concrete boxes serve as an original packaging for a collection of jewelry designed especially for architects and lovers of modern design.

          The packaging design is minimalist. It reflects the Gravelli philosophy, which is based on simplicity of shapes and sophisticated manufacturing solutions.

          Both halves hold together thanks to the used magnets on the inner sides.

          The boxes are handmade from the same material as the jewelry itself.

          Gravelli logo is embossed at the bottom of the box.

          Set includes 4 different sizes of the box which depends on size of the jewel.

          Group packaging for 6 pieces of chocolate clearly, through fine golden pictograms, declares the main benefits of the product. The gold foil on natural material acts harmoniously and uniquely assigns the packaged product to the premium segment. The natural brown "look" and the corresponding pictograms are a link element of the group packaging and consumer chocolate packaging. The different types of chocolate are distinguished by a characteristic graphic motif.

          The design of the chocolate wrapper is similar to their coloring, simple and minimalist. Group packaging using a belt with a lock ensures and presents perfectly packaged chocolates.

          The brand’s traditional customers can enjoy a limited collectors’ edition set of four labels. The design focuses on the mystical story of mixing the herbs and partly reveals the unique secret recipe by introducing the selected herbs, one for each label. 

          To help involve consumers into the story, an innovative and unique printing technology is used with hot stamping of two different colours and a special “invisible” technochromatic colour. This reveals the yet-untold part of the magic story after the bottle has been chilled. The label is completed by the use of authentically traditional paper.

PLA has technically minor shrinkage and is ecological – fabricated from recoverable sources (corn plans). 3D printing is operated on czech made 3D printers (DeeGreen, DeeRed) – company Y soft.

          Transportation cost reduction in packaging re-use concept.

          Products are delivered to customer in high-quality, durable injected trays. Trays are made of PP (polypropylene). Empty trays are collected and mashed to granulate. Raw granulated material is transported to trays producer and used again for new trays injection. There are no additional costs on washing, storage and return transportation.

          The biggest advantage is immediate availability of raw material – granulate. Trays are produced just-in-time and in the required quantity.

          There is markable saving behind R – R trays (Recycle – Reuse) in comparison with concept of „returnable packaging“.

          This type of packaging is original and unique in the food industry, as the packaging features not only paper look, but also paper feel; it is rough on surface, which is an untypical feature for rotogravure printed products. Paper packaging has a striking luxury appearance and with the right distribution of coated and non-coated areas, an embossing effect can be produced. 

          To reach the paper effect, a special, two-component varnish was applied. In standard engraving of rotogravure cylinders, visual effect is nice, but smooth on touch, similarly as all other rotogravure printed packaging. 

          In order to reach a rough surface, it was necessary to use a special method of cylinder engraving. The time of engraving was prolonged four times, and the coating was much thicker than with the solvent-based technology.

          Láhev "FROMIN kojenecká voda" byla vytvořena jako jednoduchá láhev pro každodenní praktické použití. Vedle cíle bezpečné a pohodlné manipulace a skladování je posláním této láhve oslovit lidské podvědomí, ve kterém je uložen základní tvar této láhve známý mnoha lidským generacím.

          Tvarovou dominatou láhve je hmatník, úchopový prostor hluboko zapuštěný do válcového těla láhve ze dvou stran, embosovaný elegantně prohnutým logem FROMIN.

          Láhev je vyrobená ze světle modrého PET materiálu, který zvyšuje pocit průzračné čistoty vody.

          Achilles CZ s.r.o.

          Two-piece set with wing-opening bottom for a total of 72 crayons. Used materials and technologies: special graphic paper & metal embossing & CMYK offset printing.
          Combination of Emmeci machine production, manual lamination and gluing in the assembly of all parts.
          The jury appreciated the goal - the retro optical effect. The original packaging structural design was created by Koh-I-Noor Hardtmuth.
          Author of new structural design: Petr Hošek.

        • Tradice udělení zvláštní ocenění „best-of- the-best“: Zlatá, stříbrná a bronzová CENA PŘEDSEDKYNĚ POROTY pokračuje. Tato výsada je plně v kompetenci paní Jany Žižkové, předsedkyně poroty soutěže OBAL ROKU 2017, která tyto obaly vybírá z obalů nominovaných porotou na základě bodového hodnocení.

          Vyhlášení CENY PŘEDSEDKYNĚ POROTY 2017 se uskutečnilo 5.10.2017 v konferenčních prostorách Ústavu molekulární genetiky AV ČR v rámci Obalového galavečera v rámci mezinárodní konference PackSummit.

        • Byla zahájena spolupráce s renomovanou průzkumnou agenturou Kantar Millward Brown, která nechává pomocí průzkumu spotřebitelů potvrdit z exponátů oceněných odbornou porotou nejlepší obal z úhlu spotřebitelů.

          DS Smith participated in a collection organized by Charta 77. The purpose of the Bell Václav project was to collect enough money to make a bell to honour our former president, Václav Havel.

          Little bells were traveling around the world since summer 2016, being handed over from one donor to another. At the end of their journey, a big auction helped to raise money that contributed to the creation of Bell Václav that will forever remind us of such important person in our history. Packaging helped to make the creators' vision come true - the vison of sending them to different parts of word. It wasnt just packaging, it was accessory.

Refilling the rack with bags is fast. Racks are printed with digital printing and the graphics can be personalized according to company brand and requirements.
