Smith Medical wanted a more ecological packaging for sensitive filter material for lung ventilation. The replacement of the EPS fixation had to be sufficiently load-bearing. We've come up with a sturdy insert that securely holds the entire roll of packaged material. By replacing polystyrene, requirements and costs for storage space and transport fell by 53%. With a single-material solution made of corrugated , we have simplified the disposal and recycling of the entire package. We saved a total of 4.3 tons of CO2 emissions. On top of it the price of the packaging fell by 17%.
